Why does Facebook freeze, limit, and ban accounts in 2025?

And how do you keep your campaigns running? At least once a year (usually two or three), Facebook goes through what affiliates jokingly call “PMS” — better known as a 🌊 storm. And every time it happens, chaos hits ad accounts across the board. That’s why staying on top of FB rules and survival tactics is always relevant.

Message in one of Telegram affiliate channels: “Well, the storm has begun. Cards are binding half the time. Processing time takes a day. If you don’t use prepay, preauthorization cost as three billings. At least for Europe. Old cards are running fine, but new ones are trashing campaigns”. 

So let’s break down what actually works in 2025 — how to ❗ minimize losses not just during storms, but also in Facebook’s calmer phases.

Typical problems when launching campaigns

Arbitrage affiliates usually face the following issues:

• Ad rejections;
• Account freezes and bans;
• Checks;
• Triggers on the landing (white page or cloaking);
• Dropping limits;
• Forced checks;
• Holds on account funds (FB charges a certain amount from the card, freezes it, and ads cannot be launched during the freeze).

There’s also another situation — ads run normally, but at an 💲 unreasonably high cost. Let’s go through all the problems step by step.

Creatives, proxies, anti-detect, and cards

It’s almost become an axiom that creatives don’t play the biggest role — account lifespan depends more on its quality, as well as on the anti-detect and proxies used. Even passing moderation largely depends on these factors.

Here 🚀  Dolphin Anty and ADSocks proxy-ports have shown solid results. Many teams farm strong, long-living FB accounts with them. Since profiles are registered with mobile device emulation, proxies should also be mobile.

Alternatives to Dolphin Anty and ADSocks can also be used — the main thing is that the product is well-known on the market and has been developed for a while. Ideally, its representatives should at least occasionally participate in affiliate conferences.

The same goes for 💳 payment systems — if they’re solid and the account farm is good, the risk of payment issues is lower. For example, MyBrocard and Flexcard have proven reliable.

As for creatives, nothing has really changed — what worked a year, two, or even three years ago still works today. Here are the main requirements:

• No “before and after” images;
• No direct promotion of forbidden products (supplements, medical drugs, casinos, dating, etc.). For sensitive niches (potency, enlargement), only vague wording and suggestive images. For weight loss, beauty, and health, you can use metaphorical or hint-based visuals;
• No more than 20% text on the image.

Below is a clear example of weight-loss creatives that have been running steadily on FB.

☝️ Pro tip! If your creative gets rejected, don’t rush to replace it. You can re-upload it in a different orientation. For example, if a square format (1:1) was rejected, try uploading the same creative in landscape (10:6) or portrait (9:16). According to webmasters, this trick often works — especially if you wait a while after the rejection before uploading the reoriented version.

Account farming quality

Account shops haven’t been doing well in recent years, and with the new 👨‍⚖️ federal law requiring the transfer of logins and passwords, things have gotten even worse.

As a result, some account stores have already ❌ shut down under these conditions. This means it makes sense to create your own accounts (at least self-registered ones), which requires farming.

The most obvious steps for effective farming are:

• Register the account with a phone number from the same country where the proxies and payment methods will later be set up;
• Create the account inside a browser profile with aged cookies. Cookies should be warmed up on sites from the same country where the account is being registered;
• Link an email for action confirmations and account recovery.

In 2025, FB treats accounts registered via Windows very poorly. It’s better to register through Android or iOS emulators — this looks much more like an average user.

What accounts should you use as “mother/king” accounts?

The method above can also be used to farm accounts for “mother/king” setups to later attach self-regs. However, if possible, it’s still better to buy aged accounts with history.

Currently, the most trusted profiles in Facebook’s eyes are those registered in the late 2000s and early 2010s. Such users almost never ran shady traffic, so the system considers them reliable. You just need to let such an account rest, farm it a little more, and then you can attach self-regs to it.

The scheme for attaching self-registered accounts is as follows:

• Register the account using the method described above;
• During farming, add it as a friend to the king account. By the way, it’s better to find the king/mother account through search rather than following a direct link — this looks more natural to FB;
• After some time (no more than 24 hours), you can already add the self-reg into the ad account of the mother profile.

When creating self-regs, always try to come up with real human names instead of using machine-generated ones.

How to Bypass Limits?

There are three main methods.

📌 The patient approach. You run ads consistently and pay for them on time. Try to use the cleanest possible creatives so as not to trigger the system. Scale with auto-rules, turn off underperforming creatives, and continue warming up the account. Many ad accounts gradually show higher limits this way.

📌 The accelerated approach. Buy and/or farm more accounts (kings and self-regs) for European GEOs, then run small volumes from each. Got a small limit? Switch to the next account. Keep doing this until you find some accounts that immediately start with higher limits.

📌 Changing the setup. If you were running from kings + self-regs, switch to Business Managers, and vice versa. This requires some adjustment, but often helps.

⚠️ Important: Some resources suggest increasing limits using a special code in Facebook’s console. We tested this method and do not recommend it. First, it only works inconsistently. Second, we cannot confirm the safety of that code. It’s better to stick to “traditional” methods for raising limits.

Bypassing BM Bans

Those who prefer running from Business Manager report an increasing problem — 😐 BMs get banned either right after registration or at the very first ad launch. Right now, this can be bypassed with 2FA (two-factor authentication) and by filling out company information. Below is an example of how to set up BM info properly.

⚠️ Important: If your BM gets burned, detach all accounts you plan to run traffic from. Otherwise, a ban, freeze, or limit on that BM will prevent you from launching campaigns even with the most trusted account.

Working with Fan Pages

Lately, there’s been a lot of talk about the importance of properly setting up your Fan Page. You don’t necessarily have to buy or attach one — you can just create it yourself (which even looks more natural in Facebook’s eyes). Here’s what you should do right after creating it, before launching campaigns

🌏 Specify the countries you plan to run ads in.

❌ Disable posting by other users.

These steps will protect the page from unwanted posting and align it with the target region.

Next, “warm up” the Fan Page by making two or three posts. Also, create one post that you’ll later promote through the “Boost” button. When publishing posts, make sure to limit commenting options.

As for buying fake likes and comments to increase the trust of the FP, there’s no consensus — some say it helps, others say it doesn’t. In our view, it’s not worth spending resources on.

Bypassing holds with Fan Page warm-up

Promoting posts on a Fan Page can also be used to remove account holds. If a hold appears when funds are charged, do the following:

• Go to Business Suite in Facebook;
• Select the Ads section and click Create ad.

When creating the ad, select Use a post. This means your Fan Page should already have published posts ready.

Launch the campaign with the budget suggested by FB. After passing moderation, the hold usually disappears.

⚠️ Important: Fan Pages need to be removed from banned Business Managers. If not, the FP will be unusable for ad launches.

To remove them, open the BM, select the target one, then go to the Pages tab and click Remove.

How to pass checks now?

In addition to selfie checks, recently Facebook has started 🔎 requesting checks for the advertising beneficiary (this usually happens if you’re running ads in the EU). As for selfie checks, a new “trick” has appeared — FB now requires you to complete them via webcam. This type of check can either be passed or bypassed.

To pass the 📹 webcam check, do the following:

• Use a deepfake generator to replace your face with a fictional one. For this, you can use Deep-Live-Cam (downloaded and installed on PC) or FaceCamAI (browser-based service). Launch the program and record a short video of yourself;
• Then, through OBS (which also needs to be installed on PC), set up the virtual camera so it can be used in any application. Load the deepfake video into OBS, so that Facebook receives the fake feed instead of your real camera. (There are guides on how to do this);
• When FB requests permission for a live selfie, allow access to your PC’s camera and microphone.

As a result, Facebook will see the face of the person from your avatar — but with your real movements.

Another way to create such a video file is through Seaart. Upload your avatar there, and the service will generate a video from it. As a prompt, you can write something like: a person sitting at a desk looking forward, moving slightly.

Bypass method. If this is too complex or time-consuming, the webcam check can be bypassed this way:

• Create a new browser profile in your anti-detect;
• Do not import proxies, cookies, or the user agent from the old profile;
• Open the link free.facebook.com;
• Log in with the credentials of the problematic account.

This way, you’ll get the standard selfie + document check, which can be passed with fake data from image/passport generators.

Advertising beneficiary check. This one is simpler: just provide the king account’s data when creating the campaign before selecting placements. If it doesn’t work the first time, create a new campaign and enter the beneficiary data again.

Getting accounts out of a ban

If your ad account ends up frozen or stuck on micro-spends, don’t rush to throw it away. It’s always better to save on resources. Accounts can be revived through ad account deactivation. To do this go to the ad account settings and choose the option Deactivate.

Then select the reason “Buying process is too complicated”.

After about 4–5 days, the ad account usually comes back. At that point, you should create the cleanest possible campaigns (you can even use the Boost post button), with a minimal budget of up to $5 per day.

How to transition to campaign automation?

Recently, Facebook has often referred to the use of automated services for launching ads.

So, if you decide to scale massively using, for example, the ☁️ Dolphin Cloud automation service, you shouldn’t just buy packs of accounts and immediately start auto-launching. Instead, it’s better to first create each account inside an anti-detect profile and even farm it a little — or at least let it rest. Only then should the “surviving” accounts (those that haven’t been hit with restrictions or freezes) be moved into auto-launch.

A couple of ways to handle expensive leads

1. Comment management. One method is carefully boosting positive comments under your ads while simultaneously removing negative ones. Don’t disable comments altogether — that lowers trust. Instead, set up pre-moderation with notifications sent to Telegram (done through automation tools).

Then, approve positive and neutral comments, and delete negative ones. Trust in ads plays a major role: if it’s low, conversions will also be low. That’s why comment management is important.

2. Campaign setup and launch order (including testing). For testing an offer, you should launch at least 5 ad accounts (10 is better). Most of them will deliver expensive leads, but a couple will show good CPL and volumes — those are the ones you keep running on that offer.

As for the setup, a scheme of 4–5 ad sets with 1–2 ads each works well. Some will give you a hook (a creative that passes moderation and delivers cheap leads). When leads get more expensive, try restarting the campaign. If the account has already generated leads at a good price, chances are high it will do so again.

Conclusion

Facebook never stands still and constantly throws new 🤓 puzzles at affiliates. But all of them are based on the fact that FB’s AI marks certain behavior patterns as suspicious.

That means, when looking for solutions to new or unusual problems, you need to keep in mind that many affiliates farm accounts and fan pages using the same templates, configure identical stop-word lists for comment moderation, and so on. So, to make your accounts last longer and spend more, you should behave as much as possible like a legit advertiser of whitehat products — and as little as possible like an affiliate.
